On May 28, 2023, the Forum on Integration and Development of “Foreign Languages + Law” Emerging Interdisciplinary Subjects was successfully held at the Haidian Campus of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). The forum, co-sponsored by the CUPL Development Planning and Discipline Construction Department and the School of Foreign Studies, focused on the integration and development of foreign languages and law as a core subject. Its objective was to promote the construction of disciplines related to the cultivation of legal talent with foreign language proficiency. The forum provided an innovative platform for discussing the training system of “foreign languages + law” from the perspective of emerging interdisciplinary disciplines. It also aims to advance the development of foreign-related rule of law in China, while serving the national strategic needs of international dissemination of China's rule of law, rule of law diplomacy, and global engagement.

Distinguished leaders and experts from various institutions, including the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Shanghai International Studies University, Sichuan International Studies University, Xi'an International Studies University, University of International Business and Economics, Beihang University, Hunan Normal University, Foreign Languages in China, and Higher Education Press, attended the forum. The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Hu Ming, Chair of the CUPL Council, Prof. Shi Jianzhong, Vice President of CUPL, Prof. Lu Chunlong, Dean of the Graduate School, Wang Zhiyong, Deputy Director of the Development Planning and Discipline Construction Department, along with other leaders and faculty representatives from the School of Foreign Studies.
